What is The Signing Library?

The Signing Library offers a convenient curriculum for both parents and teachers that is easy to navigate. This curriculum aims to help students recognize words in English while simultaneously learning American Sign Language in a fun and engaging way. All information is presented in both American Sign Language and English, ensuring that all students, whether deaf or hearing, have full accessibility.

The Elementary 1 series consists of five episodes, each teaching different subjects, including the alphabet, numbers 1-5, colors, family signs, and animals. Consistency is the key to mastering American Sign Language, and The Signing Library encourages repeated viewings until the signs become committed to memory.

While the workbook is not required for mastering ASL, it is available for purchase on Amazon and includes the books presented in each episode, as well as worksheets and coloring pages for students to enjoy. When viewing the five episodes in the Elementary 1 series, parents and teachers are urged to reference the student workbook to get the most out of the curriculum.

The Signing Library's goal is to teach American Sign Language while nurturing students' interests in reading.
