About Anna Marie

Anna Marie's passion for American Sign Language began at a young age. Fascinated with the language, she spent countless hours pouring over books and instructional videos, mastering every sign she could.

Despite struggling with reading, she found accessibility through a children's show that provided her with the visual learning tools she needed. Anna Marie took her first official ASL class in college at 16, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in visual arts with an emphasis in studio art by the age of 19.

From there, she pursued her love for sign language by completing an Interpreter training program, where she was honored with the highest recognition and earned two associate degrees in arts for Sign Language-English Interpreter Preparation Program and Language Studies.

She later graduated with a Master of Arts in Special Education with an Education Specialist Credential Concentration: Mild/Moderate and a Multiple Subject Credential. She also holds a National Interpreter Certification (NIC) for ASL.

Anna Marie's extensive background has led her to create The Signing Library, an online resource aimed to introduce ASL to all children, both Deaf and hearing, in a visual, tactile, and engaging way to support their journey towards reading English.
